Inside the world’s most stunning beauty boutiques. I’ve been to one of those named in the article (Sulwhasoo’s flagship in Seoul, and it was definitely an experience.) (Allure)

Are luxury fragrances worth the money? (Huffpost) – A good example for (I guess) sponcon: ‘Natural’ ingredients aren’t better (they may be more expensive). In fact, synthetic fragrance molecules are often better for the environment (in case of vanilla, musk and amber gris, for example) and the consumer, having allergens removed. As always, you’ll pay premium for a name, a perfumer, and the packaging.

Lauder’s brand Rodin Olio Lusso goes the way of Becca and will be closing down. But wtf is happening right now?! (Beauty Independent) – Very in depth, and also an interesting view on how indie brands fare when they’re bought up by conglomerates.

Sustainable Beauty

UK-brand REN forms a sustainability alliance with competitors called ‘we are allies’ to pool resources and come up with more sustainable everything. (Global Cosmetics News)

Allure (the magazine) removes claims like ‘green’ and ‘eco-friendly’ from copy. I like it, but could we start the same thing with all things ‘clean’?!

Sustainable brands go mass market. (Glossy.co) – An interesting view on that dichotomy of selling stuff and sustainability. Is that even possible?

We reviewed a few interesting releases: Nars’ new Soft Matte Tinted Balm, Paula’s Choice’s CBD line (and the concept of angel dust with a lot of CBD info!), Hermès’ new blushes (maaaayyyyyybe my most expensive haul of the last years), and, a first for us, a combined review of Fenty’s powder foundation, in which you can see the product on both of us. On the topic of new releases, here’re the most interesting ones (I thought). And finally, on Earth Day, I wrote about the declutter habit that’s detrimental to sustainablility. Quick tip: sunscreen stinging your eyes? Do this!
