So. Many. Launches! Does everyone and their table lamp now launch a beauty line?! Still: Some are rather exciting (and some… not so much. Bobbi, looking at you.) In other news: why should you even want to look younger, the bad news about biodegradable glitter and hope. Yes, hope: all in the beauty news in October.

Douglas Germany launches Coloured Raine and D&G makeup online, and opens a Pat McGrath Labs counter in their Hamburg flagship.

California is the first state in the US that bans certain cosmetic ingredients that are already banned in the EU. (This actually doesn’t change a lot anyways, because most of them aren’t regularly used any more.) (Yahoo)

Have a look behind the scenes of what Ronald Lauder is doing with his money (i.e. helping Trump). (I also wrote about that in the Holiday round-up here.)

Fenty Beauty launches more skincare products. (Fashionista)

Bobbi Brown launches a new beauty line (and I’m not convinced). Is there anything new to ‘my-face-but-better’ and that old chestnut ‘clean’ and ‘non-toxic’ (barf)?! (Fashionnetwork)

Are beauty trends dead? Here’s what one of the most influential MUA’s thinks: “It’s more of an open playing field with influences, especially with the idea of diversity. I honestly found this super helpful, because we’re seeing the pandemic winter unfold before us with dread: make your life easier in very doable, little steps (asking questions like how to improve your work space, your personal wellbeing and more). Honestly, read it. (Vice)

On the Blog

October 2020 makeup releases

Holiday season is nearly here, and here’s the round-up of the big player’s makeup releases. Also: what sustainable brands have been doing lately. Apart from that, I *think* I’m ready to call my most favourite product of the year: I love the multichrome goodness of Natasha Denona’s Chromium Liquid Eyeshadows – here’s the VERY pic-heavy post.

Speaking of makeup: I tested all kinds of foundation and skincare to find the best transfer-proof makeup under protective face coverings.

Also, my fave products after nearly seven years of beauty blogging. Astrid found a maybe dupe of one of Tatcha’s hero products, and I reviewed cosrx’s new cica toner. And then, I was brought to a fall by a bottle of squalane. Oh well.
