Enable me! My current beauty wish list

I’m back in Europe right now, and that means – beauty shopping! I always stock up on things when I’m home, and have, of course, already ordered a lot of holy grail products and staples. But I haven’t been in Germany for five months, and have updated my wish list of products to check out and maybe buy during that time. So here it goes!

If you’re curious how I got to know about the products on this list – well, I’m totally not immune to blogs, vlogs, and the occasional Instagram review. Ahem.

Diptyque – Shanghai candle

Recently, a remark from Sabrina from The Beauty Lookbook made me curious: There’re limited edition Diptyque candles in some cities around the globe. And only available there. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to find the Shanghai candle in one of the Diptyque boutiques. (You can also order it on the Diptyque site at rare occasions.) It’s described as having notes of tea and osmanthus, and I’m so on board I can’t even tell.

MUFE 242 eyeshadow brush

Ah, when the enablers are your real life friends… resistance is futile! Britta is always raving about MUFE brushes, and as I’m in the market for a fluffy blending brush, her remarks about the 242 convinced me that I have to get it.

Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Undereye Primer

You may have read about my recent struggles with foundation and concealer? Yeah, so my next battle strategy is primer. Undereye primer, to be exact. Maybe it’ll help with the issue that every concealer I try at the moment looks dry like the desert and cakey at the same time? I hope?

Maybelline Super Matte Ink Unnudes

I already own one of the Super Matte Inks in the darkest colour available, and I’ve to give it to Maybelline – their IG campaign is fabulous and has worn me down. I have to get one or two of the new ‘Unnudes’!

Neogen Real Cica Pads

When Gothamista says a skincare product is great AND it has the ingredient of the moment – I mean you have to listen, right?! These pads are full of Centella Asiatica, an ingredient that’s supposed to reduce inflammation and boost collagen production, resulting in a strengthened skin barrier. I want.

Iope Easy Fitting Concealer

And in another episode of concealer wars and woes, here’s another one that I have high hopes for. It’s a dupe of YSL Touche Eclat, and I’m in desperate need of some brightening. (Beware of the post that enabled me – there’s material for days in there. Enter at your own risk.)

NYX Micro Brow Pencil

Carina raved about this being a dupe of the ABH Brow Wiz at a much more palatable price. I’m in the market for an easy brow product that I can pack for holidays when I don’t want to lug the glass pot of my HG Brow Pomade around (Anastasia Beverly Hills).

Essence brush guards

Again, for traveling these seem great and affordable when I saw them on Karin’s blog. Not much else to say. (I mean, a brush guard isn’t really the most exciting product, so I’m happy that Essence came out with their brush sleeves at a really good price point.)

Kat von D 24-Hour Super Brow Long-Wear Pomade in Aubergine

Yay, much more exciting! I so want a brow pomade that matches my purple hair, and Kat von D delivered! I have no idea when it’ll be available in Germany, but the need is strong. And yes, I can totally get excited about brow products.

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof

L’Oreal’s much-celebrated dupe of the Too Faced better than sex mascara left me stone cold, because it smudged like the dickens. I liked the wand, I liked the volume it gave – but I’m not on board with the smudging. I hope that the waterproof version will resolve that and also be a lot cheaper than Too Faced’s. (I know – smudging happens because of oils, waterproof formulas – soluble with oils etc., but waterproof mascara always works better for me and usually doesn’t smudge. My undereyes are weird.)
