I usually go to Paula’s Choice when I want actives driven, well formulated skincare powerhouses: The retinols I use come exclusively from PC. But slowly, I’ve turning to PC for little-known problem solvers, like the Shine Stopper that’ll make nearly every greasy and sticky sunscreen wearable (yes, really). Recently I was influenced to buy this little white pot of oil and waxes, and yes: ladies and gents, we have another miracle product! Look forward to the Paula’s Choice Lip & Body Balm review.

Application

best balm for dry lips

This is super thick and solid and needs to be warmed up a little. Then it’s truly one of the greatest things that’ll give you instant relief on chapped lips, dried-out cuticles, cracked heels, rough skin on elbows and knees… and so on and so forth.

I use it mainly on lips and cuticles. Urban myth (aka beauty forums) tell me it’s going to strengthen nails with continuous use. We’ll see.

Effect

Paula's Choice Lip & Body Balm review

It does what it promises: smooths and soothes. You’ll end up with a significant balmy layer wherever you put it, though. I haven’t seen long-term changes yet, but who knew that PC had it in them to come up with such a great little multi-purpose balm?

Comparison

I’m always on the hunt for a good balm: I mainly use it on my nails after removing my nailpolish. Usually, I use Lush’s Lemony Flutter – which has one distinct disadvantage: it goes off very quickly. L’Occitane’s balm comes with a bucket full of fragrance (Lush’s too, obviously, but I’d never dream to use that anywhere else but on my nails, while L’Occitane’s is marketed as an all-purpose balm) and, when I tried it ages ago, was super waxy and hard.

Paula’s Choice Lip & Body Balm review: Worth it?

skincare rating

Um, yes?! It’s better than everything else I’ve tried: it’s truly a great little multi-purpose tool, and also (pro tip coming up) great when PC does their promotions when you need to buy two full-sized products to get a gift or discount: this counts as a full-size. Throw it in your basket next time you shop there!
