Let me take you to the beautiful landscape of Andalusia, with the scent of lavender and citrus with the Andaluz Skincare review.

It’s not really a secret that I have a soft spot for small businesses supporting local farmers and sustainability. So, when Andaluz Skincare relaunched with their new concept and packaging, I am so excited and can’t wait to try it out.

The geometric design of the packaging looks very modern with a nod to the history of Andalusia and Alhambra (more of that here). I’m already dreaming to repurpose it for storing my brushes and eye pencils.

From the new lineup at Andaluz Skincare, I chose to purchase the Relaxing Oil. It was my favorite product from their previous line. Andaluz has been very generously gifted me the Energising Oil and Relaxing Spray to review.

What I am Most Excited For

The beautiful design is really just the beginning of the journey. It was the story and the passion behind the Andaluz brand that hooked me to the products.

Andaluz Skincare started in 2014 by Rebekah Pantaleon (née Warren). We had an interview some few years ago at twindly here. She had continuously work closely with local farmers, sourcing organic ingredients from Spain to lovingly create the most beautiful products, just like the Andalusian sceneries.

The whole lineup gets a makeover and highlights the star products of the Andalusian landscape: olive oil, marigold flowers, spike lavenders, and citrus. From the Andaluz description:

All of our moisturizing oils are made with 100% organic, cold-pressed Hojablanca olive oil from Molino Hortelano in the Andalusian countryside. Their olive oil has won multiple gold medals in Europe for its superior quality. This family-owned mill practices sustainable, chemical-free agriculture and harvests by hand. Within hours of picking, the olives are pressed in the Hortelano certified organic mill. The olives are cold-pressed to preserve their natural properties, creating a luxurious oil rich in antioxidants.

We then cold infuse each litre of this oil with 100 marigold (calendula) flowers from Conscious Earth Farm in Andalusia. They grow, hand-pick and dry all of the flowers using only sustainable, chemical-free, permaculture practices.

Andaluz commits to creating the highest quality products that are environmentally sustainable and cruelty-free. All of their products are made without pesticides, herbicides or animal testing of any kind.

The Review

Andaluz Skincare Review: Relaxing Spray

Andaluz Relaxing Spray

Ingredients: Aqua, Lavandula Spica Oil, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate, Linalool, Limonene.

Andaluz Relaxing spray is a very easy product to like. The lavender scent is more prominent and lingers longer. It’s a great spray to use before and after a calming yoga session, on the pillow to help relax before bedtime and to gently hydrate your face during a hot day.

Ingredients: Olea Europaca Fruit Oil (Olive Oil), Lavandula Spica Oil (Spike Lavender Essential Oil), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Calendula Officianalis Limonene (essential oil).

The relaxing oil has always been my favorite product. This one does not disappoint. It is a great iteration after the previous one (also, how gorgeous is the patterns!). Definitely a great oil for a relaxing massage in the evening before bed or to rehydrate your skin at any time of the day.

Technically, you can also use the Andaluz oils for the face as it has all the goodness your skin needs! I personally couldn’t use it on mine though. It is slightly too heavy for my combination skin at the moment (but might change in winter!). But if you happen to try it, let me know in the comments if you like it!

Andaluz Skincare Review: Energising Oil

Ingredients: Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (Olive Oil), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil (Orange Essential Oil), Citrus Medica Limonum Peel Oil (Lemon Essential Oil), Lavandula Spica Oil (Spike Lavender Essential Oil), Calendula Officinalis Flower (Marigold), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Linalool, Limonene (essential oils).

I did not expect it, but I ended up loving this product the most. I guess it’s the mellowness of autumn that started getting into my system, that I unknowingly crave the energy of citrusy scent.

The feeling of putting on the Energising oil in the morning before going to work? It gives me the extra kick of freshness and the memories of the warmth of the sun (much needed as I am heading into Berlin darkness aka winter months).
