Seoul K-beauty shopping for beginners

Beauty shopping in Seoul – the 101 on K-Beauty shopping

Seoul has to be the most exciting city for beauty junkies to visit. There’s no city (that I know of) that’s as permeated with all things beauty like Seoul. I mean, there’s a whole neighbourhood dedicated to beauty shops! You’re also getting a hint about the general beauty-crazedness when you arrive at the airport – virtually every billboard was adverting cosmetics. Every. One. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed, so here’s my Seoul K-beauty shopping for beginners!

best beauty blogposts and articles recently

Link(love): Favourite blogposts and articles in March

Your monthly news of the beauty world (feat. Kat von D, MAC and Catrice this time around). Also the one where I share my favorite posts and articles about beauty (of course), and everything else. This month, you might have a peek at a feud over snail mucus (really!), how monks tried to cure the plague in the middle ages and came up with a cosmetics line that is still around today (really!!!), why minimalism is stupid and a brilliant portrait of the daily life of various Instagram influencers by Vogue that manages to be neither snidely arrogant nor condescending, but is totally on point. Have a look at my favourite reads lately.

where to find beauty products in Shanghai

A beauty addict in China: Beauty shopping in Shanghai

There’re many highs and lows in the life of an expat, and while living in Shanghai has many perks, beauty shopping definitely isn’t one of them. Especially not for a die-hard beauty addict. On the surface, it doesn’t look that bad – in Shanghai’s enormous shopping malls, there’s usually a Sephora or drugstore, and there’re also a lot of free-standing stores of the big Western beauty brands, and some Korean ones as well. But. There’re a lot of buts, actually.

A Quick Silisponge Review

Have you tried the silisponge? I recently got mine from Molly Cosmetics and here’s my quick silisponge review.
In case you haven’t heard about it, the silisponge is this new beauty tool craze that works for putting foundation on your face. It’s not porous, hence you’re supposedly only need fewer products. It’s been on a craze for a while, partially because of the viral YouTube video of Jeffrey Star (you can watch it here).

beauty bucket list for 2017

The beauty bucket list for 2017

Bucket lists. What better end to 2016 than looking forward to the beauties 2017 will bring, and to ponder what to buy from the upcoming spring releases? Because I don’t know about you, but chances aren’t really big that this girl will ever do a triathlon (nor would I want to) and trekking the Inca trail is about my worst nightmare. But a beauty bucket list is straight up my alley!READ MORE

Beauty shopping in Singapore

Beauty adventures in Singapore

I love Singapore. It has been dubbed the Asian city for beginners, because for a Western person, it’s incredibly easy to get around. For me, though, it’s the Asian New York City – a melting pot, a financial hub, a touristy mess – topped with a all-year round hot climate, awesome parks and gardens, yummy food and well, the shopping. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the shopping malls and opportunities, and I wouldn’t say that I even scratched the surface of this teeming city. But here’re my favourite spots for beauty shopping in Singapore.READ MORE

twindly's Mascara + Primer Comparison

Mascaras and Primers for Asian Lashes

I have the typical Asian lashes: on the thinner side, not too long, and definitely not full. I’m still on the lookout for the best mascaras and primers for Asian lashes.  Currently I happen to have five opened bottles of mascaras and two bottles of lashes primers (which is rare!). So I figured, let’s do a side by side comparison post and review!
