are ColourPop cosmetics good

ColourPop revisited – Gel eyeliner, blushes, satin liquid lipsticks and matte eyeshadows

ColourPop was one of my major disappointments of 2016. I didn’t like the products I tried from them, and then they made an appearance in the category ‘worst customer service of 2016’ in my best of 2016 post. Nevertheless, they offered free international shipping and suddenly, I wanted to give the products I hadn’t tried before a chance. So, the question is – are ColourPop cosmetics good? Those ones that aren’t hyped up liquid lipsticks and glittery eyeshadows? Millions of followers can’t be wrong, right?READ MORE

cream eyeshadows comparison

New in: Three cream eyeshadows from MAC, Urban Decay and Charlotte Tilbury

Three very very different cream eyeshadows I got lately and use for different purposes. MAC’s Paints are classics that have been tragically nearly purged from MAC’s permanent line (only four shades remain). I love Urban Decay’s Moondust Eyeshadows and was incredibly curious about the liquid version that got very diverse reviews. And finally, a new brand for me is Charlotte Tilbury, and my first purchase was the Eyes to Mesmerise Long-Lasting Easy Colour in Veruschka.READ MORE

Greenery Pantone Color of the Year 2017 makeup

Greenery – Pantone Color of the Year 2017: how to wear it

Every year, Pantone comes out with their Color of the Year. We’ve covered quite a few years already – Marsala, here, and Rose Quartz and Serenity here. This year’s Greenery is quite a challenge for makeup enthusiasts – how am I to wear a spring-y yellow green? Might you ask. And also, Color of the Year. Why should I even care? Short answer: Because Pantone subtly influences your shopping behaviour. Go ahead, scoff and laugh – I’ll prove it to you after the cut! (Also, pretty makeup.)READ MORE

Spring 2017 makeup collections roundup

The Spring 2017 Makeup Collections: The lazy girl’s round-up

Ah, spring – the time for budding blooms, green leaves, blue skies… not. Cosmetically speaking, spring makeup collections appear before Christmas or, at the latest, in January, and I shake my fist at that. I’m on a self-induced strike not to mention anything spring-y before Christmas on the blog, and really, this week was the earliest opportunity I could drag myself to the laptop to write this thing. At a point in time when my Christmas decoration is still up and I’ve seen the various collections on Instagram a thousand times. Sigh. Let’s get on with it, then, while I’m having a hot chocolate and the world outside is wintery and dreary.READ MORE

Armani liquid lipstick review

Armani Lip Magnet review – liquid matte lipsticks gone high-end

The new year is barely ten days old, and I’m already breaking the rules I set for myself in my bucket list for 2017. This exact rule I’m speaking about is steering clear of the wishy-washy high-end incorporations of matte liquid lipsticks, always watered down versions of the real thing. But then, I stood in front of the Armani counter, saw the new(ish) Lip Magnets and curiosity got the better of me.READ MORE

Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Kink & Kisses review

Review: Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Kink & Kisses

Not gonna lie, I mainly got the Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Kink & Kisses because it looked so pretty. The swatch seemed promising, so into the shopping basket it went. A few weeks later I’ve tested it thoroughly. Here’s my Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Kink & Kisses review!READ MORE
