Account alert: because we’re big on using what we have aka #shopyourstash I found Hannah’s videos on ‘duping the vibe’ really helpful. I already did it once and duped Mac’s new Tempting Fate palette on Instagram stories – did you see it?

Haircare undergoes something called ‘skinification’ lately: brands have figured out that they earn much, much more money if they can sell you a brand new 10-step routine for your hair. (Glossy.co)

Account alert, number 2: Planet Friendly Paint. Imagine turning your unloved eyeshadows into something different… but what?! This company makes watercolours from eyeshadows, and if you’re the artistic type, how great is that?! But what if you don’t want a career? Yes, what then? “Those questioning their careers are simply daring to imagine what a better, more equitable future of work might look like.” (Galaxy Brain)

On the Blog

We’re still doing sunscreen reviews, and if you’re looking for a lowdown on a hyped sunscreen, you’ve come to the right place: we not only look at ingredients, filters, and claims, but also do extensive wear tests and have a handy overview checklist for each product.

This month, we reviewed Instree’s Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel, Iope’s UV Shield Sunscreen Stick, and two SPFs from new brand Hello Sunday: their sunscreen drops and their face moisturizer SPF50. Both tanked for me.

I also looked at what to do with old fragrances (don’t believe everything you read on the internet!), reviewed a new Vitamin C serum from a German indie brand that I previously loved, and found a book about the socioeconomic history of makeup that was the best thing written about makeup ever. (I don’t say that lightly.) Finally I found out how to get better skin – and found myself in the process.
