If you want to dip your toes into a new brand, a mini palette isn’t the worst way to start. Especially when it comes to a high-end brand like Natasha Denona whose eyeshadow palettes are rather expensive. The Natasha Denona Mini Sunset review will tell you if that warm-toned mini will give you the look you want.

The Brand

Natasha Denona (the brand) isn’t the worst choice to support: the quality is obviously there (see reviews here and here). While the range isn’t focused on diversity, it doesn’t do bad – the foundation range is there, and while there’re weird lapses like the case of the Glam Palette, her product range usually is inclusive. The brand is cruelty-free, not entirely vegan (they use carmine), and doesn’t have a special sustainability approach or pledge.

The Size

Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette Compared with Fenty’s Snap Shadow Palette in Cadet

There’s no doubt: this is an expensive brand. Her ‘big’, 15-pan eyeshadow palettes are around $125, the ‘smaller’ 15-pan palettes are $65. 5-pan palettes are $49. And then there’re the minis: Usually ‘spin-offs’ from her 15-pan palettes. There’s a ‘big’ 15-pan palette called Sunset. Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette is its offspring shade-wise, for a fraction of the price: 5 eyeshadows x 0.8g = 4.0g. (There’re no repeats in the Mini palette though – if you’re a fan of warm-toned palettes you could own both and don’t own doubles.)

Verdict

There’re a lot of mini palettes out there. Case in point: Fenty’s Snap Shadow palettes. Sure, you get some bang for your buck for the Fenty Beauty shadows, but honestly, did you ever finish an eyeshadow palette? (Actually if you do, please tell me your secrets!) I find it better to go with a color combination we like and will use often.

Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette Swatches

All of the shadows in this palette works really well together and they also swatched beautifully. Guava didn’t show up so much because it’s similar to my skintone, but both mattes in this palette (guava and dirty mars) are easy to blend, not chalky, and well pigmented. Love them both. The metallic shades are also great to work with, no fallout whatsoever. They are super pigmented and blend easily with each other. Overall this is a great palette to have and use.

Verdict

The Natasha Denona Palette is a clear winner for me. The shades blend really well, are very pigmented, and the quality is consistent. It’s truly a no-brainer and beautiful palette. The only “downside” is the looks you create are pretty similar.

The Mini Palette is $25 at Natasha Denona‘s site.
