Fall Favourites Tag

Everybody and their kitchen sink already did the Fall Favourites Tag, but since Astrid and I had already planned to do more general posts in the future and sprinkle a little bit of lifestyle related things into the twindly mix, we decided to go with this format that we saw on Karen’s blog first last week. So, without further ado, our favourite fall things!READ MORE

Beauty founder stories: Erik Kormann, maker of perfumes (English version)

Erik Kormann’s dream wasn’t exactly to become a perfumer – he had a lot of different jobs. But after finishing his MA in cultural studies, and having to deal with only short-term contracts afterwards, he found himself working in his partner Xenia’s soap shop more and more. That was the beginning of a slow immersion into the world of scents and perfumes. By now, he has created 14 perfumes. His blog shows in detail how to make perfumes and mix scents – a transparency that is nearly unheard of on the realm of fragrances. (Find the interview in the German original here.)READ MORE

(English translation here.)

100 Days of Beauty Looks

Back in April, a friend of mine introduced me to The 100 Day Project initiated by the lovely Elle Luna and The Great Discontent. It’s about doing a thing and sharing it for 100 consecutive days. You can read about it more here.  I’ve to say I love doing these kinds of projects. Something that shuts down my inner critics and challenging to do everyday to create a new habit.  It was then a matter of finding the right calling and the right project to commit myself to.

Clubelle Makeover Session

As part of the Clubelle experience and in relation to my 100 days makeup look, Maggie Cappeletti, the founder of Clubelle, invited us to try out the service and have a personal consultation session with her.

I started out feeling a bit skeptical, as I always do when I am going to a makeover, feeling like “Oh, I totally know what I am doing, I don’t need any more advice, I just like the feeling of getting the makeover!”READ MORE

Während unserer Arbeit an twindly haben wir viele verschiedene, faszinierende Menschen in der Beauty-Branche kennengelernt. Very different beauty twins

If you could see both Astrid and me (Dorit) right now, you wouldn’t think that we’re beauty twins. We met a few years ago on a beauty forum, and the only common denominator was our mutual love of all things beauty and makeup. I mean, that’s a lot, right? If you’re a beauty junkie as well, you know how great it is to find like-minded folks that don’t see your love of colours, textures and looks as something girly, stupid and shallow. (But this is a topic for another post.)
