For me, though, it’s the Asian New York City – a melting pot, a financial hub, a touristy mess – topped with a all-year round hot climate, awesome parks and gardens, yummy food and well, the shopping. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the shopping malls and opportunities, and I wouldn’t say that I even scratched the surface of this teeming city. But here’re my favourite spots for beauty shopping in Singapore.READ MORE

moving with your makeup stash

Moving with your (rather large) makeup stash

At the beginning of the year I was presented with the daunting task to make arrangements for our move from Germany to Shanghai. Moving is always a frightening experience, but moving with your makeup stash to another continent? I was terrified. And here’s what I learned in the process, to help out you all who might someday have to ship their makeup stash halfway around the world, too.READ MORE

French Pharmacy Favourites

Five French Pharmacy favourites for absolutely everybody

French pharmacies can be magical places, full of fabled beauty items Lisa Eldridge & co. always talk about. Or they can be totally overwhelming and crowded. The place where your significant other is complaining about your time-consuming beauty-buying habits while you’re standing in the aisle unable to decide what you want to buy (the last scenario may or may not have been a personal experience). But then, I take a look at the incredible piece about Michelle Carter and can’t help but smile. And if all fails, Nail Gaiman to the rescue!

Packing for the holidays

Makeup on a plane

What makeup can you take on a plane? I travel frequently and tend to lug a lot of my makeup around when I do (chronic over-packers represent!). Taking skincare and makeup items with you on a plane can be quite tricky, though. Here I’ll tell you what best to pack into your carry-on, and what should go into checked baggage (and what you can do if you only have a carry-on).READ MORE

Summer travel essentials – what you’ll really need

I recently saw a Summer Travel Essentials blogpost that featured toe rings and stationery, and while I don’t know your life and if toe rings are an absolute essential to you, it got me thinking. As I’ve just returned from a three week trip, I’ve got a few things on my mind I’d love to share with you – let’s just say I’ve learned from my mistakes!READ MORE

Spreading the (link)love – July’s best blogposts and articles

I’m the first to admit that I spent the larger parts of the month wishing I was on some kind of vacation and being vastly envious of everybody who lazes around the pool right now. And between travel posts and instagram stories there seemed to be nothing going on in the blogosphere at all. In the whole blogosphere? No! READ MORE
