I usually don’t go for beauty boxes, I don’t even buy advent beauty calendars, mostly for the reasons that Dorit posted here. This time, though, I am very much intrigued.

Because the Amazingy Charity Beauty Box isn’t just for my pleasure but also doing good for a charity advocating women, girls, trans people, and intersex people who fight for their rights: Mama Cash!

The other thing that intrigued me about this box is that it seemed better in being inclusive. Or at least, I would be able to use most of the items in it. Usually beauty boxes has some sort of foundation or concealer, and most colors that would only fit a certain type of skin tone. This one has mostly skin care products, and colors that will actually fit most skin tones.

What’s In It?

It consists of 28 items, a mix of full-sized and travel-sized, plus a notebook, a tote bag, and 10 trees planted. The box is 129€, valued at 500€. It’s sold out within 12 hours of release, but in writing this I’m hoping they will do it again next year, and if you are interested, do follow them because Amazingy is an awesome shop for organic beauty. (note: we are not affiliated or earn any commission for saying this).

The types of items are mixed, with outliers like the OrganiCup (a menstrual cup). I am a huge fan of using these as you can read from my post here, although I have never tried this brand before.

There is also a discovery set of perfumes from Abel, which I am also super excited to try out. Abel brands themselves as an ethical and natural perfume, and from my first impressions, the scents are also very nice with modern aesthetics like Byredo or Jo Malone.

The Color Cosmetics

Love the selection of colors they have here. To create a color combination that fits a lot of skintones would not be an easy job. Here they have a black mascara from Ilia (safe choice), a dark green eye pencil from Hiro (it will fit most people), a bronzer from RMS beauty that kind of still work for me (I could imagine this will be too dark for light skin tones?), red burgundy lipstick from Absolution (red lipstick is always an excellent choice), glow illuminator from Nini Organics (very warm toned, although it’s oil so it could go very sheer), copper-toned glitters from Amazingy, and a coral lipgloss from Kjaer Weis.

Can’t really see the bronzer swatched here, but when I put it on my cheek it is really pretty. Also the lipstick Absolution – Le Rouge | Bordeaux N°1 has a very nice texture to it. It’s neither matte nor creamy, it felt slightly moisturizing, and it stays put for 3 hours at least.

The Skincare Products

So, let’s just say I’m still a skeptic when it comes to natural skincare. There are definitely some great products, but often the great products came with a very pricey tag for less effective results. The box is a wonderful solution because then I can try out different things and decide if it is for me.

Plenty of brands I haven’t tried yet, and at least one product I love, the Pai Cleansing Oil. I look forward to trying out the sunscreen products: FYI Cosmetics Protective Daily Moisturizer SPF30 and The Organic Pharmacy Cellular Protection Sun Cream SPF 30.

The Hair, Body, and Nail Products

Again, it looks like a mix of great products. I like one of the Fine products, the deodorant here, and I’m happy to say the body serum also has this fresh woody scent.

The nail polish color, again red! Happy about that, I have not tried it yet, but I have another nail polish from Nailmatic and it’s not bad.

The Verdict

Is it worth it? It always depends on what you’re looking for. For me it’s worth it because of the cause they are supporting. So it’s a win – win for donating the proceeds and getting new products to try. I am also excited to see a more inclusive beauty box, so I have to try it!

Will it make me a total convert to natural beauty products? Perhaps. I’m on the team that thinks “natural” is not always better. Better is being more sustainable in your beauty choices. What I love from these natural and organic brands are that sustainability is often part of their genes.
