L'Oreal favourites

Brand favourites – L’Oreal

L’Oreal is one of the biggest beauty companies in the world, with countless brands under their belt, from high-end, to drugstore, to pharmacy brands, to niche. Plus, of course, their own eponymous brand, the one you see everywhere, in every drugstore, in every country. Pulling technology from all their other brands, there’re a lot of absolutely stellar products, but there’re two lines that are generally good, whatever product you try: Base products and mascaras. Let’s have a look at my favourites, shall we?READ MORE

The Ordinary Vitamin C serum and primer review

Review: The Ordinary Vitamin C Serum and Primer

The Ordinary – the most hyped up skincare launch of 2016. It all came together: endorsement from ‘gurus’, youtubers, the press (print!!!), a line that’s unapologizingly nerdy, and last but not least, the legacy (it’s a Deciem line, after all), the clean chic and, yes, the price point. It’s incredibly cheap, and the message is somewhere along the lines of ‘shit that works can be cheap’. You’ve got to do your homework, though – the names aren’t necessarily understandable or appealing. Instead of ‘anti-aging’, you’ll come across ‘Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F’. Beautyjunkies handled the release like the second coming, and I ordered a shit-load of stuff. Because hey, it’s cheap, and in the name of science… *mumbles* So here’s my The Ordinary Vitamin C serum and primer review.READ MORE

January beauty favourites feat. makeup, skincare and perfume!

April is the cruellest month? I always wondered about that sentiment. Can there be a crueller month than January? It’s cold, we had to put the Christmas decoration away and I don’t know about you, but I’m totally broke after the Christmas and sale extravaganza that was December. So, what’s better than an infusion of cheap, colourful and blingy makeup into your life? While this works for me, Astrid is more about the feel-good vibes of amazing skincare and a good perfume. Which camp do you belong to?READ MORE

French Pharmacy Favourites

Five French Pharmacy favourites for absolutely everybody

French pharmacies can be magical places, full of fabled beauty items Lisa Eldridge & co. always talk about. Or they can be totally overwhelming and crowded. The place where your significant other is complaining about your time-consuming beauty-buying habits while you’re standing in the aisle unable to decide what you want to buy (the last scenario may or may not have been a personal experience). So, here’re five products for your shopping list and a little sneak peak into the best of the best of French pharmacy products.READ MORE

Spreading the (link)love – July’s best blogposts and articles

I’m the first to admit that I spent the larger parts of the month wishing I was on some kind of vacation and being vastly envious of everybody who lazes around the pool right now. And between travel posts and instagram stories there seemed to be nothing going on in the blogosphere at all. In the whole blogosphere? No! READ MORE

Skincare hack: how to avoid tacky face

Twindlytuesday: Two skincare hacks to avoid sticky skin!

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely hate the feeling of product sitting on my face and that tacky feeling that comes with it. Liquid foundation that never settles? Urgh. Face oils that never properly sinks in? Bah. Can’t stand it. And besides, it’s not just that icky sticky feeling – it also stained bed clothes and a rising level of impatience, while I hop impatiently around and waiting for skincare to sink in so I can apply my makeup in the morning, and nobody has time for that! Enough reasons to tackle the sticky face situation once and for all.READ MORE
