March beauty and book favourites

March favourites: beauty and books!

We at twindly HQ have been beauty shopping! (Blame it on this spring feeling when you just *need* something new after the long winter to perk you up!) Luckily, all products we’ve gotten turned out winners (independently we both tried Nars products that went head-to-toe with Urban Decay classics!), and promptly went on the favourites list. Which is here. Plus, we share our favourite book we’ve been reading lately! Read on for our March beauty and book favourites!

Nars Narsissist Eyeshadow Palette Loaded

An Honest Review of NARS Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette (vs Urban Decay Naked Palette)

I’m one of those people who are quite gullible when it comes to raving reviews of products. Especially when it’s a blogger I’d consider as my beauty twins like Karen of the Makeup and Beauty Blog. In the case of the NARS Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette, won’t be too hard given how much I actually like the brand. I’m rarely disappointed by NARS products, and I hope they will return to Germany again (with Sephora? please?)

Spring 2017 makeup collections roundup

The Spring 2017 Makeup Collections: The lazy girl’s round-up

Ah, spring – the time for budding blooms, green leaves, blue skies… not. Cosmetically speaking, spring makeup collections appear before Christmas or, at the latest, in January, and I shake my fist at that. I’m on a self-induced strike not to mention anything spring-y before Christmas on the blog, and really, this week was the earliest opportunity I could drag myself to the laptop to write this thing. At a point in time when my Christmas decoration is still up and I’ve seen the various collections on Instagram a thousand times. Sigh. Let’s get on with it, then, while I’m having a hot chocolate and the world outside is wintery and dreary.READ MORE

beauty bucket list for 2017

The beauty bucket list for 2017

Bucket lists. What better end to 2016 than looking forward to the beauties 2017 will bring, and to ponder what to buy from the upcoming spring releases? Because I don’t know about you, but chances aren’t really big that this girl will ever do a triathlon (nor would I want to) and trekking the Inca trail is about my worst nightmare. But a beauty bucket list is straight up my alley!READ MORE

how to pair lips and cheeks

Three lipstick and blush dream teams that work

I do have my makeup routines. I guess everyone has. The looks that always work, the fallback looks when you’re feeling crap or if you’ve got 10 minutes left. And then you break out of your routine, and start to wonder – does this new lipstick work with this look? How about this blush, does it work? How to pair lips and cheeks, dammit?READ MORE

Beauty shopping in Singapore

Beauty adventures in Singapore

I love Singapore. It has been dubbed the Asian city for beginners, because for a Western person, it’s incredibly easy to get around. For me, though, it’s the Asian New York City – a melting pot, a financial hub, a touristy mess – topped with a all-year round hot climate, awesome parks and gardens, yummy food and well, the shopping. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the shopping malls and opportunities, and I wouldn’t say that I even scratched the surface of this teeming city. But here’re my favourite spots for beauty shopping in Singapore.READ MORE

Holiday 2016 makeup collections

Holiday 2016 makeup collections: The lazy girl’s round-up

Not gonna lie, but I was feeling a lot of dread wading into the realm of 2016’s holiday makeup collections. Would they be good? Exciting? Swoonworthy, even? I was afraid that I could already tell how the collections would look like without even knowing about them – like, Dior: classic holiday red and gold. YSL – something opulent and smokey. Armani? Nudish understatement. Isn’t beauty ennui just THE WORST? But let us go through this together – I’ll point out for you what is totally worth getting, and what is not. READ MORE
