How to style a 20s look

How to adapt a style to your personal look – 20s makeup

Once a year, I go to a ball. A proper ball. They always have mottoes, and this year, it was ‘The Golden 20s’. I was ecstatic at first – who wouldn’t love to dress up as Daisy from The Great Gatsby? So I got a dress, shoes, jewellery… And then, so I thought, came the fun part. The makeup. And it got slightly complicated. Read on for my easy 20s makeup look how-to!READ MORE

November beauty favourites

Neat November beauty favourites

Ufff. It’s December, people! In all the madness of end of the year stuff that happens, as usual, I haven’t been really playing around with makeup as much as I would’ve liked. Nevertheless, my favourites may be basic, but they’re truly great, proving that in many cases, good things come in unassuming packages. (There’s a joke somewhere in that sentence, but I’m tired, in my robe and didn’t have enough coffee yet.) Astrid’s faves, though, bring the proper festive cheer. Anyways: MAC! Holiday collections! A proper gem of a foundation! Sponges?

try a cushion if you hate foundation

Why you should try a cushion if you hate foundation

I’m maybe a tad weird, but I love using cushion foundations, althouuuuuuuugh I don’t love all the things they’re purportedly great for. I’m not really into the glowy foundation thing, and I never use cushions on the go, so why are they great? Happy you ask! (I’ve got answers, and some recommendations for you.)READ MORE

hyped-up products that didn’t work

The thing about reviews – hyped-up products that didn’t work

A beloved YouTube and blog category is the ‘Worth the hype’ tag for about every beauty product imaginable. For every beauty blogger and vlogger influenced hype, there’re again bloggers and vloggers wanting to check said hype. And in the end, it’s up to you what to believe. I want to show you what happened when I was enabled and why things went awry. Follow me on a journey through blogs, vlogs, discussions with friends, and see where Twindly comes into that.READ MORE

Seoul has to be the most exciting city for beauty junkies to visit. There’s no city (that I know of) that’s as permeated with all things beauty like Seoul. I mean, there’s a whole neighbourhood dedicated to beauty shops! L'Oreal favourites

Brand favourites – L’Oreal

L’Oreal is one of the biggest beauty companies in the world, with countless brands under their belt, from high-end, to drugstore, to pharmacy brands, to niche. Plus, of course, their own eponymous brand, the one you see everywhere, in every drugstore, in every country. Pulling technology from all their other brands, there’re a lot of absolutely stellar products, but there’re two lines that are generally good, whatever product you try: Base products and mascaras. Let’s have a look at my favourites, shall we?READ MORE

Molly Cosmetics' Silisponge used with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Charlote Tilburry Light Wonder, and IT Cosmetics CC.

A Quick Silisponge Review

Have you tried the silisponge? I recently got mine from Molly Cosmetics and here’s my quick silisponge review.
In case you haven’t heard about it, the silisponge is this new beauty tool craze that works for putting foundation on your face. It’s not porous, hence you’re supposedly only need fewer products. It’s been on a craze for a while, partially because of the viral YouTube video of Jeffrey Star (you can watch it here).

MAC makeup must-haves

Five (odd and overlooked) MAC favourites!

I’ve a complicated relationship with MAC. Like for many beauty junkies, MAC was my gateway drug (back in the days oft he dinosaurs when it was still relatively cheap for a girl on a budget). Between then and now I got kind of exasperated with their limited editions that drop approximately every five minutes, mediocre products they released and great ones they discontinued. But I still enjoy some old and some new products very much, so much that they’ve become staples in my makeup drawer.READ MORE

beauty bucket list for 2017

The beauty bucket list for 2017

Bucket lists. What better end to 2016 than looking forward to the beauties 2017 will bring, and to ponder what to buy from the upcoming spring releases? Because I don’t know about you, but chances aren’t really big that this girl will ever do a triathlon (nor would I want to) and trekking the Inca trail is about my worst nightmare. But a beauty bucket list is straight up my alley!READ MORE
