Believe it or not, I bought my first two Zoeva brushes this year. I know. It’s like I’ve been living under a rock. But as I’m still on my quest for a highlighter brush that suits my needs (have a look at the former installments in this little series and you’ll see what I mean), I picked up the Zoeva 105 Luxe Highlight, and the 312 Detail Liner as an afterthought. There’re many highs and lows in the life of an expat, and while living in Shanghai has many perks, beauty shopping definitely isn’t one of them. Especially not for a die-hard beauty addict. On the surface, it doesn’t look that bad – in Shanghai’s enormous shopping malls, there’s usually a Sephora or drugstore, and there’re also a lot of free-standing stores of the big Western beauty brands, and some Korean ones as well. But. There’re a lot of buts, actually.

I love Singapore. It has been dubbed the Asian city for beginners, because for a Western person, it’s incredibly easy to get around. For me, though, it’s the Asian New York City – a melting pot, a financial hub, a touristy mess – topped with a all-year round hot climate, awesome parks and gardens, yummy food and well, the shopping.
