The new Giorgio Armani Life is a Cruise Eye Tints collection has six colors, five of them are new. It’s no secret that I love Giorgio Armani’s Eye Tints. It’s one of the most single shade eyeshadows I own. We have reviewed them when they came out here.
Reason enough to be excited? Of course! Plus the new colors reminded me of the color palette of the Italian seaside.
There seemed to be different versions of what this collection consisted of, what we have at the Berlin KaDeWe counter is this one above. The eyeshadow palette, eye tints, eyeliners, and eye & brow maestros. There are other versions with the Maestro UV Primer and the other eye palette / blusher / bronzer / highlighter. Pixiwoo has a nice swatch and short review of them here.
Giorgio Armani Sunset Eyeshadow Palette
The eyeshadow palette was nicely pigmented, but I’m personally not a fan of an eyeshadow palette that blends the colors together (instead of having individual pans). For a blush that’s okay, but just not with eyeshadows. Here is a swatch on my nc42-44 skintone
Giorgio Armani Life is a Cruise Eye Tints Swatch
I had some difficulty finding out the color names. Almost thought they just came with numbers, until I realized the one I got had a name. So here it is if you are curious (plus the swatch):
The eyetints shades in this collection: 11 Rose Ash (from the permanent collection), 25 Midnight Cruise, 26 Navy Lights, 27 Sunset, 28 Italian Riviera, 29 Armani Cruise.
All in all, every single shade is nicely pigmented, the shade 25 Midnight Cruise and 26 Navy Lights are better pigmented than the ones released in the initial collection. Here is another swatch.
I fell instantly in love with shade 28 Italian Riviera. It’s a gold shade with just the right amount of shimmer that hopefully wouldn’t transfer everywhere on my face (like the shade 7 Shadows sometimes does)!
Comparison with other Eye Tints I have
I see a pattern of colors I like here. Apart from Shadow, every one is a warm shade.
Actually, my tip for these kinds of eyeshadows is to buy a shade that you’d wear often. It has a short expiration date and what it excels most is the ease of use. One swipe and blend (for more hints, take a look at this post on peculiar eyeshadows).
Here is a comparison swatch with other eyetints I own.
The 28 Italian Riviera has a more refined shimmer than 10 Senso, 7 Shadow, and 14 Sunrise. It is also very opaque and pigmented with just one swipe. The texture is almost like the matt release (23 camel smoke), but there is definitely shimmer in it as you’ll see it on the Eyes!
FOTD using Giorgio Armani Eye Tints in 28 Italian Riviera
I learned that not all eye tints are created equal. Some have more lasting power, some get sparkles all over my face, some stay put during my half marathon training (only for testing purposes!). The shade 28 is definitely a winner. It stays put all day, it has this nice sheen, but not quite sparkly. Easy to use and play with other colors. I love it.
And here is the same look taken from another angle.
I blended #10 Senso on the outer corner for this look. It’s easy and pretty, methinks! What do you think? Are you getting something from this collection?
These look great on you Astrid! Unfortunately, I can’t wear these eye tints. I bought a couple a year ago or so and they made my eyelids itchy as well as giving me a burning sensation. Hence, I stay away even if the colours are nice.
I remember you told me that! That’s a pity because some of these shades are so good and easy to wear, but hey, there’s plenty of other beauty stuff you can try out!
