There were some excellent articles and blogposts to be read this past month that I want to share with you all and share some linklove! This time, it’s choc-full of beauty: knowledgeable posts from bloggers I admire, photography tricks that fool everyone, men wearing makeup like it’s not a big thing, and what’s and who’s behind those annoying teatox ads on Instagram – there’s something for everybody in there!

Men wearing makeup – regular, normal men, who ask their wives and girlfriends to take them to Sephora. I love this.

Magi has written the ultimate guide to MAC eyeshadows, including prices in Europe and the US, and eyeshadow shades that are available in pre-made palettes. Please give her some love because that must’ve been a LOT of work. (in German)

Another blogger wrote a very conclusive post that must’ve been a lot of work: Musicalhouses wrote about talc, the lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson and if it’s safe to use cosmtetics products containing talc. I admire the hours of research that go into this kind of post, so kudos! Also we now know where we stand regarding to talc.

A article about the appearance of pores might sound weird, but I’m sure that’s a topic that’s close to many beauty enthusiasts’ hearts’! (It also adresses one of my pet peaves – you can’t shrink pores. Period.)

Instagram is still the social media channel everybody talks and has an opinion about. British Beauty Blogger thinks about the implications IG might have on our mental health and how the app filters reality.

… while racked delves into those teatox sponsored posts that annoy the hell out of everybody but the people paid to post them. It’s a whole industry!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Hardly. Especially with photoshop, filters and all the ringlights in the world on hand nowadays. But have you ever thought about how photography itself might render you slim or chubby? A plus-size blogger explores the tricks photographers’ employ at magazine shoots.

How to shop for skincare successfully, and what you can really expect from the skincare products you buy. Bottom line: your moisturizer might not as important as you thought!

I found this article accidentally while I was researching for my last book review, and found it a fun, great read if you’re interested in the history of cosmetics and beauty. Plus, it has a lot of gossip about Mrs. Lauder, Mr. Revlon and Mrs. Rubinstein! (And who doesn’t love a bit of gossip?!)

Let’s end on a funny note – 10 signs that you’re married to a perfume/beauty blogger, courtesy of TheNonBlonde, whose blog I adore. My hubby assembled my new Alex recently in record time, so she might be on to something!
