Without further ado, ten articles and blogposts for you to browse, relevant to the beauty obsessed, travellers, history nerds, selfie takers, instagrammers and the seekers of love. (And there’s a scandal too! -> end of the post.)

Beauty

Ever heard of face yoga? Apparently it’s a thing, and it’s supposed to make your face appear firmer.

There’s an iPhone case that makes your selfies appear flawless (Kim K. endorsed). Actually, the idea of a phone case that lights up seems pretty ingenious – would you buy it?

I’ve recently moved to a city in which smog is a major thing, so this article on pollution and its effect on your skin is kind of relevant to my life right now. (Fun fact about me: I’ve never gone to bed without taking my makeup off first. Never.)

The history of perfume. I was kind of blasé about this article (because I’m an annoying know-it-all), but then found it fascinating!

Sabrina from The Beauty Lookbook went to a makeup masterclass (who also sponsored her post, just fyi) about colour correcting at Sephora and did an exellent job in writing a round-up of everything she learned. She also included a great and enormously helpful picture tutorial on top of that!

Beauty news

Karin from Innen & Aussen went to Cosmoprof and discovered a secret! Hint: There’ll be a new brand by Cosnova (the company behind Essence, Catrice).

Also, relevant to readers in Germany: nyx is coming to dm.

Life, love and everything else

Are you going to South Africa anytime soon? Here’re some beauty must-haves you should buy there.

The end of Instagram as we know it: Instead of showing authentic content, it’ll become a popularity contest.

You don’t have to change yourself to find love, which is a message I find relevant and also true – I met my significant other during a time I felt awful and not at all loveable. Reader, we’re married. 😉

A scandal that happened last month: LVMH, the corporate behind Guerlain and many other brands, caused the blog of Monsieur Guerlain, a perfume blog with a large following, to shut down, because Monsieur Guerlain posted a link to Parfumo (we interviewed Parfumo writers Ronin and Louce a while back). In the thread linked to, there was a discussion about a price hike that LVMH apparently wanted to hush up. Read an excellent report about the whole thing on Kafkaesque’s blog here.
