Happy happy new year 2016!!

We hope you’re having a great start into this year, and may we have the grit to keep going on those New Year resolution 🙂 !

I just got back from my hometown visit / vacation in Indonesia, still kind of jet lagged, and going back to this sub zero temperature in Berlin is not making it easier… (It was > 30∘C there and <-10∘C here!). As always though, playing with makeup is a good remedy and I found just the thing to cheer me up.

It’s this eyeshadow palette from Wardah, which reminded me of two things:

(1) The color of early sunset in Indonesia

Sunset sky in Indonesia

(2) Simultaneously of Pantone Color of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity + Pantone Color of the Year 2015: Marsala

Wardah is an Indonesian beauty brand, it is widely known for being the first one carrying the ‘halal’ label. What does this means? It means the products adheres to Islamic law and not using alcohol (also good for you who believes alcohol dries the skin), pig by-products (sadly it could contain other animals so it’s not vegan), and other ways of unethical ways of acquiring things (Yes, I know, this is a vague description, but sadly I couldn’t find a clearer description in their website).

The texture of the eyeshadow is quite soft. It’s also nicely blendable and buildable (all three of them!) and it lasted the whole day with NARS primer as a base.

As you see the blue isn’t showing up much on me unless I wear a base. It somehow translated into a silvery blue on me, funnily enough.

I applied all the colors on my eyelids, blue on the innermost corner, pink all over, and the marsala-ish on the outer corner. The result? Surprisingly I quite like it (must admit I was quite skeptical with these pink and blueish color). What do you think?

On my face I’m wearing Laneige BB Cushion in 33 Coffee, blush is Laura Mercier Innocent Peach creme blush. The lip color is The Face Shop Ink Lipquid in BR01 Rose Marsala (BTW: I love this color on me. And yay, Marsala!)

I do look a bit sleepy, but I’m not so sure if it’s the makeup or if it’s the jet lag :D.

Verdict: It’s definitely worth checking out if you’d like to try out the Pantone Color trend for 2016. Price/Quality is very good. Although the downside is I think the product currently is only available in Southeast Asian market.
