Everybody and their kitchen sink already did the Fall Favourites Tag, but since Astrid and I had already planned to do more general posts in the future and sprinkle a little bit of lifestyle related things into the twindly mix, we decided to go with this format that we saw on Karen’s blog first last week. So, without further ado, our favourite fall things!

♥ Favorite candle

Last year, I got suddenly into Yankee Candles. I even got their advent calender! For fall, I love their Moroccan Argan Oil scent, which smells very rich and like an expensive perfume. On their site, it says it smells of Argan nuts, sandal wood and patchouli. To me, it smells cozy.

Favourite lipsticks for Fall: MAC Fashion Revival, MAC Commotion, MAC Rusty, EL Strange Bloom

♥ Favorite lip color

Berries and brownish reds all the way! I love my Huggable Lipcolours in Rusty and Commotion (hey, did you see that some of the Huggables became permanent on MAC’s OS North America?! First: How great is that?! And second: I want, too! Make them perm in Europe, guys!!!) I also enjoy MAC’s Fashion Revival from their recent MACnificent collection and Estée Lauder Liquid Lip Potion in Strange Bloom.

Some of my favourite autumnal things: Chai tea, Yankee Candles Maroccan Argan Oil and pumpkins!

♥ Favorite beverage

Chai tea. I can’t survive without tea, and this is my favourite right now.

Favourite Fall blushes! Chanel Accent, Nars Sin and Clinique Black Honey.

♥ Favorite blush

Nars Sin is such a classic for fall, isn’t it? I also like brownish colours like Clinique’s Black Honey and Chanel Accent.

♥ Favorite article of clothing

Scarves. And I got pleather leggings at Mango last week that are fabulous! They pair great with chunky knitwear and long shirts.

And while it was nice and clear and crisp Fall weather in whole Europe, I was in Sicily in pouring rain. Nothing a colourful umbrella, a big scarf and a cheerful lipcolour won't help with!

♥ Favorite movie this fall so far

Hmmmm, I haven’t watched that many movies at the cinema this fall! I’m looking very much forward to the big blockbusters this year though – Mockingjay, Spectre and Star Wars.

♥ Favorite TV show this fall

The new season of Doctor Who is awesome and amazing and EVERYTHING. If you don’t know anything about Doctor Who: a 2000 year old alien that travels through time and space. It’s the longest-running show ever (it was created in the 60s by the BBC), and the Doctor, the titular alien, changes his looks and personality from time to time – right now, he’s played by Peter Capaldi. There’s also always a (human) companion who goes on wild adventures with the Doctor. It’s fun! Give it a try.

♥ Favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving

We don’t do Thanksgiving here, but favourite food right now? Pumpkin. I’m always so happy when fall comes round again and there’re pumpkins in every supermarket. I love pumkin soup, but this curry I did last week was great too!

♥ Favorite Halloween costume of all time

We don’t do Halloween either – but Mardi Gras (‘Karneval’) has a really long tradition in the area where I come from. My fave costume ever was the year I went as an apple tree for Fat Thursday. Yup. Brown leggings, green shirt that I had leaves and garlands of ivy sewn on, and of course little paper mache apples. There was even a little bird that perched on my shoulder (a stuffie, of course!) and a squirell! Loved it.

Astrid’s answers

Autumn is a concept I didn’t grow up with. I grew up in Indonesia (tropics!) and I used to only see it in movies. While I love the golden colors of autumn (and how it fits my skintone!), I’m always slightly mellow, because it means summer is over and we’re back in the land of eternal cold. I didn’t really understand the concept of skintone changes during the season, but now, living in Germany, I do. Autumn is the time when I look tan while the light is slightly dimmed, which looks great with strong lips!

♥ Favorite candle

Here’s the thing, growing up in Indonesia, candles remind me of the times when we didn’t have electricity (it happens a lot btw: heavy rain, some cable malfunctions, lightning). We basically waited in candlelight until the electric company managed to solve the problem.  So having candlelight at home makes me feel the opposite of good… plus I’m prone to knock something over. But I guess if I had to choose a scent, I’d go with vanilla.

♥ Favorite lip color

Somehow I’m into warm corals like MAC Ethereal Orchid. And falling in love again with Chanel Temeraire, which is some sort of a complex red brick color.

♥ Favorite beverage

Nothing specific. Just realizing I’m drinking a lot of ginger infusion with lemon and honey these days to keep the cold away!

♥ Favorite blush

NARS Tribulation combined with ILIA Cheek to Cheek.

♥ Favorite article of clothing

This red dress that I found by chance when I accompanied my friend shopping.

♥ Favorite movie this fall so far

The Martian.

♥ Favorite TV show this fall

Modern Family on Netflix.

♥ Favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving

Hmm… We don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving, but what I remember the most every time we’re invited to a Thanksgiving dinner? Biscuits dunked in gravy!

♥ Favorite Halloween costume of all time

The only time I ever wear a costume recently was as Red Riding Hood. I am sometimes tempted to dress up like the evil queen …!

Getting back into running this Fall!
Getting back into running this Fall!

One more thing that I for sure do every time autumn starts (unconsciously): taking up running again. Apparently I’m not much of a hot weather runner!
